Solo, Duet & Trio RegistrationRegistration and payment must be completed before your dancer is officially registered for a solo, duet, or trio. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and registration will remain open until August or until all spots are filled. Tuition includes:
Full season solo/duet/trio tuition
Choreography fees
Music editing/cutting fees
Competition entry fees are not included. Families will register and pay competition fees directly through each competition (typically beginning in January). Solo entry fees average about $100 per competition when registered on time. All solo dancers must also be enrolled in a dance team and/or technique class. Solo lessons focus on choreography and individual instruction, while team and technique classes help dancers continue building their skills and technique throughout the season. We encourage each dancer to use unique music for their solo. Having different songs creates a better experience and helps avoid direct comparisons between dancers. Music requests can be submitted during registration or at a later date. We keep a list of selected songs to prevent duplicates. Parents are welcome to watch solo lessons through the observation window. To provide a focused learning environment, only the dancer and instructor are allowed in the studio during private lessons.
Below is an updated list of our current solo instructors. You will also find some helpful information listed by each instructor. Information like what days they will be teaching solos, and other scheduling information. Please take this into consideration when choosing your solo instructor options.
Jacey & Tyra will be teaching their soloists choreography during the summer months (in 1-2 sessions) Then, starting in September, they will practice with their soloists for 30 minutes once a month, not twice a month. This is because they will be traveling to Salina for solos. Tyra will be at Utah Tech University and Jacey will be spending time up north with her husband. This solos system works great for experienced/ intermediate soloists. This is not recommended for novice or beginner soloists. Novice and beginner soloists need the twice a month repetitive practice schedule. Novice and beginning soloists... please pick a different solo instructor.
If you are wanting a hip hop solo, Hannah or Kristin are your go too's:) They will also do Jazz & Lyrical.
Kristin Coates: Tuesday practices twice a month.
Hannah Coates: Tuesday or Wednesday practices twice a month.
Bree Nielsen: Weeknight practices twice a month.
Tyra Porter: Weekend practices once a month.
Jacey McKinlay Mason: Practices on week nights once a month.
Kylee Hales: Week nights twice a month.
Abbie Jensen: Wednesday practices twice a month.
Jaylie Otten: Week night practices twice a month.
Nakiah Payne (Snow Badgerette) : Week night practices twice a month
Some instructors are taking two soloists while others are taking more. Please know that this is why some fill faster than others. Solo instructor requests will be filled in the order payments are received/time stamped through our payment processing system.
We are excited for our next season and would love to have you be a part of it!!
If you have any questions about any of these instructors, please feel free to text or call me: Natalie 435-979-0126. Each instructor listed has grown up dancing at N&B and know's what we do and how we do it.
